Move for Hunger & SImple Moving Labor

Here at Simple Moving Labor, we have officially announced our partnership with Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization established to support the efforts of community food banks in North America.

During a move, it is common for individuals to throw out a good deal of items. Unfortunately, a lot of these items are food products that could really benefit a family in need — that’s where we have signed on to help.

Simple Moving Labor will support the Move for Hunger mission by packaging unopened, non-perishable food items donated by transferees during the moving process and delivering those items to a local food bank.

“Forty-percent of the food produced in the United States every year is wasted. Meanwhile, 41 million Americans do not know where their next meal will come from,” explains Adam Lowy, Executive Director and Founder of Move For Hunger. “Our partnership with SML Relocation will provide us with the support we need to continue feeding millions of Americans.”

“Here are Simple Moving Labor we‘re always looking for ways to give back to our multiple communities across the United States” said Lisa Dias, CEO of Simple Moving Labor. “After hearing the difference that Move for Hunger has made in the lives of people across North America, it was a no-brainer to start a partnership with this amazing organization.”

Move for Hunger currently works with over 1,000 moving companies and thousands of real estate professionals across the United States. Through these partnerships, they have successfully delivered over 11,479,245 pounds of food. This alone was enough food to provide over 5 million life-saving meals for those in desperate need.
