Damage Claims: All damage claims must be filed within 90 days of your job. With the purchase of our Professional Mover Service, SML and its vendors are liable for damage during the load and/or unload ONLY. Damage which occurs during transit is not covered for any reason under any valuation. We will fix or replace your item(s) for damages at a rate schedule of $.60 cents per pound per item as determined by the US DOT standard weights and measures. Items which are part of a pair or set will be valued as individual items. Shipper understands that the loader/unloader is not responsible for unsealed cartons or item(s) not packed by SML. Shipper understands that the loader/unloader is not responsible for ceramic, granite, or marble and does not warrant the mechanical condition of appliances, or electronics, as there is no way for the loader/unloader to know the operational ability of each item prior to the move. Pressed Board, particle or compressed wood is excluded from our coverage due to the nature of the material. Always check with your home or renters insurance for coverage terms. Shipper understands that the loader/unloader is not responsible to any damage to pool/billiard tables, pianos or grandfather clocks. Be advised that stock, bonds, fur, jewelry, paper money, coins and collectibles of any kind will not be covered for any reason. Please do not pack items of this nature or leave the premises unsupervised during your load/unload. If any damage to the property occurs please point it out to the lead mover immediately. Failure to notify the loaders/unloaders of any property damage prior to their departure will forfeit any claim of damage to the property against SML.
Important Notice: Any and all items in excess of 300 Lbs. are not covered unless declared and approved by SML prior to the load/unload. Please provide item(s) and descriptions in the 'Additional Notes' entry box.
SML is an independently owned and operated company and has no affiliation with any of our referral or linking partners. Our referral and linking partners make no warranty as to any services provided by SML. There is a minimum time frame for each job and a travel fee may apply in some cases. At the completion of each job the final balance will be charged to the credit card left on file unless other arrangements have been made. Failure to remit full payment at the completion of the job may lead to late payment fees being assessed. SML implements a 72-hour cancellation policy; any scheduled job within this timeframe that requires date/time changes or is cancelled may be subject to forfeiture of deposit.
Labor only services are for customers who plan on renting and driving their own moving truck but only need assistance with the loading and/or unloading of their household goods.
Full service moves are for customers who need SML to facilitate the entire move. This includes SML providing a moving truck, loading, driving and unloading.
