How far in advance should I book my moving labor?
To ensure availability and to have time to make adjustments as necessary it is a good idea to book your moving labor 2 weeks in advance. Of course we will always try to make availability for our customers, but to ensure availability click here to book as soon as possible.
I don't have a moving van or truck, what should I do?
Not a problem! We are exclusive Labor Partners with Penske Truck Rental. You can reach them by dialing 1-888-996-5415 and they can get you setup with a moving van or truck for you upcoming move.
Why should I use more expensive movers as opposed to labor assistance?
The Mover service is ideal for a customer who really wants to be more hands-off and let the experts do all of the work. This service of course comes with our standard insurance policy which gives customers additional peace of mind that their belongings will be protected from harm.
How big of a truck do I need?
This depends primarily on the number of rooms you are moving. This can vary based on the size of furniture you have and the amount of furniture that you have in each room. However, for a good starting point to decide the size of the right moving truck or van review this chart.
What happens if my furniture is damaged during the move?
Damaged Furniture…Yikes! Relax, breathe easy. With the purchase of Simple Moving Labor's, Mover Service you are covered with our insurance policy. Simply review our claims information to submit a claim and we will take care of the rest.
Where can I purchase moving boxes?
There are a number of great places you can go to get boxes, even your local grocery store may provide recyled boxes! Remember there are a great variety of boxes available to suit many needs from packing clothes, dishes or even flat-panel televisions. For new boxes we suggest visiting our online box supplier where you can purchase all the boxes you need and even receive free shipping!!
Do I really need tie-downs and blankets?
To ensure that your items don't shift while you are driving your moving van or truck and to protect your more delicate pieces like bed frames, book shelves, china cabinets and other important family heirlooms it is necessary to provide the appropriate number of blankets and tie-downs. You may purchase these from Penske Truck Rental's online moving supplies shop or check with your local Penske shop. We recommend at least 2 dozen blankets per room being moved (this number will vary depending on the type of furniture you have in each room).
What kind of tools do the movers bring with them?
Our movers bring a set of standard tools including a flat head and Phillips screwdriver, a hammer and assorted wrenches. They will also supply a dolly or hand-truck for moving heavier items.
If I have a problem the day of my move with one of the movers who do I contact?
Your Simple Moving Labor representative will call you the day of your job and provide you with the easiest way to communicate with our office. We are available throughout the moving process and will assist you in any way possible to make sure your move is a Simple Move!
